ORIGINS & ETHOS

MAKE EVERY DAY
A RITUAL.

VERDÉ was founded to bridge eight hundred years of Japanese tea ceremony wisdom with the cadence of modern urban life.

Uji Kyoto Terraces

The mist-draped hills of Uji, Kyoto—where the world's finest tencha has been cultivated since the 13th century.

THE THREE COMMITMENTS

01. Tana Shading (28 Days)

We shade 100% of our tea bushes beneath traditional reed mats for four full weeks. This triggers intense chlorophyll surges and hyper-concentrates L-theanine, yielding electric green color and pure natural sweetness.

02. Granite Stone Milling

Never flash-pulverized in industrial high-heat metal grinders. Our tencha is stone-ground on handcrafted volcanic granite wheels at 40 grams per hour to protect sensitive aroma compounds and micronutrients.

03. Single-Cultivar Traceability

Every batch traces back to specific family farms in Uji and Wazuka. No filler, no culinary blending, and zero artificial coloring. Only virgin first-flush spring harvest.

VOICES OF UJI
“When you drink tea made with mindfulness, the rush of the world dissolves. You do not need to escape your life; you need only arrive in it.”
